TTRPGkids on Ludology Podcast, Episode 16: Using TTRPGs to foster a love of learning

TTRPGkids has a regular spot on Ludology Podcast, and in this part of the series, I’ll be talking about educational TTRPGs! Episode 16 dives into how TTRPGs can be an excellent medium for learning to love learning by getting over certain roadblocks, becoming more familiar with trying new things, and gaining self-confidence.

Ludology podcast is a discussion-based show about the hows and whys of tabletop games! They have longer form episodes every other week, and, on one of the off weeks each month, we have the TTRPGkids show! In Episode 16, I talk about how TTRPGs can help kids (and everyone in general) to learn to love learning and to build skills that provide the resources needed to be an active and engaged learner. Learning is often seen as a chore because it’s part of a mandated set of activities during school, which, despite our best intentions, don’t always support what students really need or want. TTRPGs help to provide a fun and enjoyable learning environment with resources and critical skill building for effective learning, and they can be an amazing tool for turning changing a mindset on what learning is.
