Age target: All Ages (counting up to 6 required)
Trash Bandits offers a set of awesome story prompts that get up to some all-ages friendly mischief. You decide how far to take the story, so you can tailor it to your group’s interests and limits. The game uses 1d6 for its rolls, so as long as your players can count up to 6 (or you are willing to help them), they should be able to play out the story!
Mechanics in Trash Bandits
Creating your character and setting
Trash Bandits offers a lot of very fun prompts for creating a setting for your big heist game! Roll to determine your character’s traits, what type of heist you’ll be doing, and what chaos ensues once the heist starts! Assemble a team of your friends to steal jewels, treasure (in the form of someone else’s trash), and more!
Tell your story
Once you’ve rolled up your setting, you then tell your story! Go around the table and, using the prompts, tell a story together. Build off eachother’s creativity and come up with some awesome shenanigans. In our game, we were trying to pull off a heist from a moving train, and kiddo had a lot of fun telling an entire tale of our raccoons’ daring escape with the giant diamond based on the game’s funny prompts.
Overall thoughts on Trash Bandits
Trash Bandits has a lot of fun prompts that can work as either a story game on its own or to create a setting for another system – we had a lot of fun with the whimsical prompts, and I hope you do too!
